Russia Reports Fatalities in Ukrainian Drone Attack on Rostov Region
Regional Governor Yury Slyusar disclosed via Telegram that the fatalities resulted from Friday night's strike on Taganrog city.
"The aftermath is serious, and the extent of damage has yet to be assessed. The commission will start this work once engineers and investigators give clearance. Buildings will be repaired, but the most important thing is that nobody was hurt during this attack," he said.
The governor vowed to deliver comprehensive support to bereaved and injured families. "I personally supervise this issue, as well as assisting the families of other wounded and affected individuals," he said.
Ukraine's Defense Ministry acknowledged responsibility for the Taganrog operation, asserting that energy facilities supplying Russian military forces were the intended targets.
Ministry sources indicated that multiple oil refineries across several southern Russian territories sustained damage during overnight strikes.
