Zelenskyy Announces Ukraine to Allow Weapons Exports
In a statement shared on the social media platform X, Zelenskyy said weapons exports “will become a reality,” adding that a new cooperation model known as “Drone Deals” is already being developed.
He explained that the initiative covers the production and export of drones, missiles, ammunition, and other military equipment, alongside technology sharing and integration with partner countries’ defense systems. According to him, cooperation under this framework is already underway with partners in the Middle East, the Gulf region, Europe, and the Caucasus.
Zelenskyy also said a similar proposal has been presented to the United States.
He noted that Ukraine will simplify its arms export procedures while maintaining strict oversight, stressing that exports will be limited to surplus production. He emphasized that domestic military requirements will remain the top priority.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukrainian companies will be allowed to access international markets only after national defense needs are met. He also said that surplus production capacity in some categories of weapons is currently around 50 percent.
In addition, he stated that Ukrainian authorities will prepare a list of countries that will be prohibited from receiving weapons exports due to their ties with Russia.
